How singers of this generation evaluate Azam Khan

My father was shaken by Azam Khan's demise. They were good friends. I was shocked as well. The history of Bangladeshi pop began with Azam Khan. His songs were very popular in the post-independence Bangladesh, and they haven't lost their appeal at all. Musicians of my generation, including me, feel that he had made immense contribution to Bangladeshi music. He'll remain an inspiration for me,” says singer-musician-composer Habib Wahid, expressing his feelings about the passing of the “Pop Guru” last month.
On a similar note, pop star Mila says: “I'm recognised as a pop singer. Azam Khan introduced this genre to Bangladeshis. He was a brilliant artiste. My father and I once covered Azam Khan's 'Rail Line-er Oi Bostite' at a show. I've always been a big fan of his music and no one can deny his influence on us. I want to walk the path created by him.”
Another pop singer of this generation, Kona, says: “Azam Khan's songs have an enduring value. He has inspired generations with his songs, hundreds of thousands danced to his tunes. He was a great singer.”
Indie singer-musician-composer Arnob says: “I had been to many of Azam Khan concerts when I was a kid, and loved listening to his classics. He is not among us anymore but his songs will keep his spirit alive. He'll live forever through his music.”

Singer Nancy believes that “generations of youths will be inspired by Khan's music.” She says, “I was acquainted to his songs long before I became a professional musician. His songs will no doubt inspire us for years to come.”
Singer Biplob is of the opinion that Bangla pop music is synonymous to Azam Khan. “He is our guru. The man is not with us physically any more, but his songs are and will be here. It is in the hearts of the youth where he will live forever.”
Pop star Tishma says: “I'm a pop singer and Azam Khan is the reason why I got interested in this genre. I'll be paying tribute to his memories as long as I live.”
